MTC 2023

Preparing for the Moment of Second

November 24th – 26th @ CASC Worship & Prayer Center

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Romans 12:9-16

11/21/23 – MTC 2023 – The Treasures in Offense

God’s preparation for Joseph’s moment of “second” centered on seeing the treasures in offense. This runs completely against our nature of self-protection and self-focused justice. By nature, we consider offenses more as trash than treasure, and we expend enormous effort to avoid or to fight against them. But as Joseph’s case shows, overcoming this nature to see the treasure is a key path to our place of “second”.

Offenses against Joseph follow the pattern of Jesus’ road of the cross – and that is a pattern rife with “cancel” and “betrayal”. How do we see the cases of “cancel” and “betrayal” we experience? These experiences may bring us some of our deepest pain and grief. But in Christ, they are treasures that bring the opportunities to express love – the love required for us to take on the place of “second”.

During MTC, we will spend time to support one another by carrying each other’s cross, by carrying each other’s burden of “cancel” and “betrayal”. As one body, we will seek to minister to one another in the Spirit’s giftings and power, to let the strong lift up the weak, and to help each other see the treasures in their offenses.

God’s heart for MTC 2023 is to see His children come to a heart condition that treasure offenses as opportunities for love, as opportunities to bless those who cancel and to forgive those who betray. Our burning desire is to flow with that heart condition into the experience of Joseph. Where, after making himself known to his brothers, he was able to declare, “And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life.”

11/18/23 – MTC 2023 – Preparing for the Moment of Second

By God’s continued grace, MTC 2023 – “Preparing for the Moment of Second” will be held at CASC‘s Worship and Prayer Center from Friday, 11/24 – Sunday, 11/26. God’s heart is to raise up the church to be the salt of the earth and light of the world.  He desires to empower us through the Holy Spirit as influencers and problem solvers to witness to the world, just as Joseph did when God raised him to the place of “second.”  For Joseph, preparing for that “Moment of Second” centered not on giftings, skills, or resources – but on his heart to overcome offense.

MTC’s call is founded on raising up marketplace leaders being prepared for their moments of “second”.  Our heart for this year is to come together to learn from Joseph, and from each other, the disciplines of a most powerful weapon – to forgive and to bless our offenders.

How will we treat our offenders when God raises us to the place of “second”?  Answering that question will reveal our heart’s readiness for our “Moment of Second”.  We invite you to fellowship and minister with other like-minded believers pursuing this heart readiness during MTC 2023.

Please register here.  You can also find the topic schedule with narratives here.

May the Holy Spirit draw those He has called and may He bless the work of our hands.
