MTC 2018 – Honoring Spiritual Inheritance – Re-Centering Our Call

We continue to press forward to faithfully carry out God’s call with our 24thMTC on November 21st – 25th, held at the Oak Brook Marriott near Chicago, IL.

This year, we intend to step into a conviction that the Holy Spirit has stirred in us since MTC’s inception in 1995.  In the past years, our conferences have generally been structured around speakers and music, with a strong focus on personal ministry.  In this season, we sense a clear leading by the Holy Spirit to change that order of priority – to move away from a speaker-centered agenda, and pursue one led by the Holy Spirit in real time. We will strive to do this through a team of sponsors (stewards of the MTC meetings) coming together to discern the Spirit’s direction, and leading the sessions into the flow of “Honoring Spiritual Inheritance”.

We see this change in the same vein as the “reset” that our good friend, Mike Bickle, is bringing to the Onething gatherings.  We also see this change as a part of the Holy Spirit’s agenda to transform the value systems of Jesus’ Bride, to prepare Her for a manifestation of Christ’s fullness that will be essential for us to stand in the coming season.

In flowing with the theme of “Honoring Spiritual Inheritance”, we extend a special call to the family members who have enjoyed a spiritual root with Pastor and Mrs. Joseph Tai, along with those who have ministered with us at MTC over the years.  It would be an honor for us to reconnect in seeking God’s heart, and “re-center” our call together as a stronger body for the coming season.

As Pastor Mike is taking Onething on a “reset”, we, after 23 years, will bring MTC to a “re-centering” with our spiritual family from far and near.

We welcome you home.

Blessings.

Uprising 2018 – Contending for Our Next Generation

Uprising 2018 starts tonight at the CASC Worship and Prayer Center.  You can still register by clicking here.

Your prayer and support will encourage us greatly as we contend for our next generation – that we will leave them the greatest of all inheritances – a stronger Body, a more beautiful Bride.

We will look honestly at our challenges of unity by pressing into how the apostles, prophets, evangelist, pastors and teachers can overcome offenses that hinders our teamwork.  We will look inwardly to ourselves and come to understand how we can find support in Spirit filled Christian counseling.  We will look courageously at our weaknesses as leaders – as followers – and everywhere in between, to seek God’s strength for granting the same grace, mercy, and reconciliation that He has granted to us.  We will look joyfully to the future through the Spirit led “life coaching” that our mentors will offer to our young people – for their careers, families, and Kingdom destiny.

In continuation of our invitation from Uprising 2017, we invite you again to stand with us in this Uprising platform, to strengthen the church for our Millennial Generation through the command of John 13:34-35, through the power of “agape love.“

Uprising 2018 – Leaving a Greater Church for Our Next Generation

Uprising 2018 will be held on July 5th – 7th.  This gathering is dedicated to connecting the generations of the church body, so we welcome young people, as well as parents and grandparents.

As parents of three girls ages 21, 16, and 10, the priority that demands the most time and energy from my wife and I is to provide our children with the best possible opportunities and education, in hopes that they can achieve financial success and become people of influence.  God has created us with the innate drive to advance our next generation, to impart to them everything that is better than what we had.  Many parents are quite successful in advancing their children beyond what they had in the world’s educational and economic systems, but what about in the universe’s most important organization, the church body?  Twenty years from now, will our next generation inherit a stronger and more influential church than what we have today?

Uprising 2018 will be a gathering where the generations come together and reach for God’s heart on the question, “how do we pass on to our next generation a stronger church than what we see today?”

In my numerous dialogs with young people on this topic, I am encouraged to see many awakening to the desire of receiving and passing on a church of strengthening unity, of increasing glory.  The Millennial Generation is hungering for a church that “works” – a church that rises above offenses and chooses reconciliation over splits, a church that influences heaven from earth because it demonstrates mercy that holds the body together in agreement, a church that nurtures the world’s most influential leaders and talents because it generously walks with its people through the refining and often offensive road of the cross.   Our young people today are moving forward to the pier, straining their gaze on the hope and possibilities represented by the ocean expanse, longing after a more beautiful Bride.  We have a responsibility to deliver.

In continuation of our invitation from Uprising 2017, we invite you again to stand with us in this Uprising platform, to strengthen the church through the command of John 13:34-35, through the power of “agape love.“

MTC 2017 – Growing Deeper

The Lord once again elevated us beyond expectation in all measures of ministry, worship, and coming together as His Body.  We sincerely hope that this MTC experience will root you deeper in the Lord and lift you higher as His testimony.

As a first step of follow up, we encourage you to recharge by revisiting our messages from the MTC 2017 Playlist, once again prepared by our talented and faithful brother Lars Magnusson.

Many have also requested the scripture references from Brother Philip Philip’s messages.  You can access those, in addition to the YouTube playlist at the MTC 2017 Follow Up webpage.

If you would like to share any testimonies, please send them to this email.  You can write them in either Chinese or English.

Your blessing to the Body through this gathering has been tremendously encouraging to us.  Please continue to press forth with us by reserving out November 21-25, 2018 for MTC 2018.

MTC 2017 – Fellowship in Our Magnificent Banquet

A newly updated schedule with speaker times is online now.  Again, we encourage you to support MTC by staying with us at the Marriott.  This is one of the most effective ways to support MTC because every room occupied will dramatically lower our cost for the hotel meeting facilities.

God has graced us this year with a most wonderful “feast” – ministers with amazing backgrounds, gifting, and testimonies.  A few snippets of what God has given to us:

  • General Manager of Sears’ Diehard battery and tires, who is also a fiery, Spirit-filled preacher
  • Pastor who makes waves in Central America through his decades long economic development work
  • African Evangelist who the Holy Spirit saved from organized crime and is now bringing revival to the Body through the testimony of Jesus and the word of prophecy
  • Former Chief Executive of Payless Car Rental (now Avis) whose “fathering heart” is raising up teams of Kingdom leaders in North America, Asia, and Europe
  • A hedge-fund veteran with a burning heart for the testimony of Daniel – that he has “resolved to not defile himself with the food and wine” of the world
  • Fashion Models risen up as Ministers/Missionaries/Mentors/Motivators with an apostolic passion to expand the church beyond the mold of a 501c3
  • Young Canadian pastor who preaches like a Korean, worships like a Korean, prays like a Korean, and is a champion in sending out his disciples to the ends of the earth…without pay

Such is the magnificent banquet God has set before us, prepared by many who have worked hard and made significant sacrifices.  In this gathering, may His Kingdom come and His will be done as it is happening in heaven.

MTC 2017 – Fellowship that Connects eartHEaven

Before we bestow our friendly reminder to register for MTC 2017, we would like to highlight a few exciting changes to this year’s program schedule.

First, the event flow has been relaxed to accommodate for more personal fellowship for building the family relationships of our body.  As the schedule shows, we’ve designated our meal times “fellowships” & “connections” as a reminder of how Jesus took the time to break bread with His core team and bounded their hearts together.  We hope that the generous time blocks will enable you to do the same by dining with family, friends, speakers, ministers, or people you have just met.  In as such, a “Family Time” has also been newly designated on Thursday to encourage you to plan a MTC family time together.  You can rest and relax at the awesome Marriott, tour the city, dine together (reservations recommended), visit with and bless others you haven’t seen in awhile, or even hold your own breakout session.  Change up your Thanksgiving tradition by making it a part of MTC, and taste God’s goodness flowing from this gathering of His heart.

Second, because we have been blessed this year with a strong group of brothers and sisters dedicated to personal prayer ministry, we have incorporated ample prayer ministry time into the schedule for every morning and afternoon.  If you or someone you know would like to receive prayer ministry, we encourage you to sign up for an appointment time by replying to this email.  You can also sign up during the conference, but appointment times would be subject to availability.

OK, finally, for the registration reminder – we have an eartHEaven gift that we really like to give you (and we think you would be happy to receive) if you register before the registration time stamp changes to November 9th.  Please register before midnight tonight!!

May the MTC gathering bless you in the connection of eartHEaven – Matthew 6:10,

MTC 2017 – Testimony of Jesus

One of the greatest asset we can receive from God is His testimony lived through our lives.  Revelation 19:10 tells us that  prophetic authority through the Holy Spirit is connected to the testimony of Jesus in us.  Jesus declares in John 13:34-35 that our authority to captivate the world’s attention flows from the testimony of how we love each other as the Church.

Testimony is authority.

But before it gets there, testimony will always begin with a test; testimony embarks on a journey through confusion and contradiction; testimony will walk us through the valley of the shadow of death; testimony may see us wrestling with God; testimony must be sustained with perseverance when we want to give up; testimony perceives God when He cannot be seen; testimony will demand grace, mercy, and forgiveness; testimony is us connecting heaven to earth.

We invite you to join us for MTC 2017 in a gathering to seek God’s heart for our testimony.

Encountering God 2017 – Earthly Answer to a Heavenly Question

The “Encountering God” gathering with Pastor Donald Lee, to be held at Christian Assembly of Suburban Chicago’s Worship and Prayer Center, is coming up the on weekend of October 6th – 8th.

Isaiah 6 reveals a place of God’s presence, the epicenter of all resource, power, and wisdom.  In this wellspring where all knowledge and understanding flow, God actually poses a question, “Whom shall I send?  And who will go for us?” – no one answers…except for a man…

This is why we long to encounter God – so we can hear His heavenly question and answer from earth, “Here we are, send us – to build your Body.”

Encountering God 2017 – Immerse in the Flame

Christian Assembly of Suburban Chicago (CASC) will be hosting Pastor Donald Lee for a weekend of corporate revival over October 6th – 8th.

Pastor Donald is a man immersed in the Holy Spirit’s fire and has been a powerful instrument of God in igniting flames all over the world.  Many of these “flames,” throughout his decades of ministry, have contributed greatly to major spiritual movements in North America and Asia.  As such, we stand in anticipation for an immersion in the Spirit’s flame.

We anticipate that God’s season has come where the Church will flow in the power afforded by unity built upon our agape commitment to each other.  We anticipate that our encounter with God will ignite that flame of agape, and launch us to the next major movement of the Spirit.

Uprising 2017 – Rising Up in Influence and Success

During my time in business school, I was initially astounded by the way of some of the students showed over-the-top generosity in taking their classmates out eat and drink.  Then I came to learn that many of these students were given very generous monthly budgets by their sponsoring companies for food and entertainment.   I, being freshly immersed into the business world as a pragmatic thinking engineer, can only conclude that, “wow, these students’ companies must really like them a lot.”

It was only years later did I come to understand why these generously funded students seemed not so concerned about GPAs as they were interested in connecting with people.  Such priority on building relationships reflected their companies’ belief that networking with people of talents and capabilities is foundational to their market influence and business success.

The world seeks influence and success by networking with people of right talents and capabilities through generous budgets.  But Jesus, in John 13:34-35, tells us that we are imparted with success in influencing the world when we network with people of the right heart through “agape love.”  It is for this reason we take out time for Uprising every year – to establish an environment for our young people to build their network, the Church, with the right people through the bond of “agape love.”  For this is the greatest asset we can pass onto our next generation in blessing their pursuit for influence and success.

In that, we invite you to stand with us in this effort to strengthen the Church through the command of John 13:34-35, through the power of “agape love.“
