Preparing the Path Back Home
November 29th – 30th @ Christian Assembly Worship & Prayer Center
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
Romans 5:6-11
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
Matthew 5:43-48
11/18/24 – MTC 2024 – Preparing the Path Back Home
Welcome to MTC 2024! This year, we feel the Holy Spirit guiding us to “Prepare the Path Back Home” in anticipation for His “homecoming” wave during the coming year.
At MTC 2023, God showed us how Joseph’s journey of overcoming offense was central to his preparation for great authority – for his “Moment of Second.” Following on this, the Holy Spirit has shown us the importance to love our “enemies,” to overcome offense by showing love to those who have wronged us.
As we reflect on this call, the Holy Spirit reminds us of Romans 5:6-11, where God shows us His love by “Preparing a Path Back Home” through Jesus, even while we were still sinners and His enemies. For MTC 2024, we hope to embrace this spirit of “homecoming” and extend it to those who have hurt us, by “Preparing a Path Back Home” for reconciliation.
“Homecoming” expresses Jesus’ call in Matthew 5:43-48, where He implores us to strive for the rewards of loving our “enemies.”
In seeing that, we intend to prepare for the Holy Spirit’s “homecoming” work by reviving our focus on the foundation of family during MTC 2024. We hope to see this year’s gathering reflect that of a Thanksgiving family reunion – covered in warmth, relaxation, trust, openness, flexibility, inspiration, encouragement, discovery, rest, lots of good food, and hearts overflowing with gratitude.
So for 2024, we will change up our usual sessions-oriented format to HomeLIFE on Friday and Saturday from noon to 6 PM. Each day, HomeLIFE will start with a hardy lunch at noon followed by a free and open time of sharing around tables – to catch up, tell stories, play games, make videos, build vision, dance, sing, give counsel, receive prayer, reflect, laugh, cry, reconcile – and just celebrate as a family in the LIFE of Home. We encourage all to share their favorite food and be free to come and go throughout the afternoon. We wrap up our HomeLIFE with a light dinner around 5 PM and then immerse into a ministry time of music worship, message, and prayer from 6 PM – 8 PM.
We encourage you to join us at HomeLIFE with everyone in your family, young and old. We only request you to make a quick reservation for each participant at this page. The 6-8 evening ministry time with Pastor Joon Hwang and family is open to all and do not need reservation. This schedule shows the general flow and timeline of our time together.
May the Holy Spirit draw those He has called and may He bless the work of our hands.
