The raising up and release of our younger generation into their destiny call and to prepare them for these times are some of the most important tasks we have been entrusted with.  They are not just the Church’s next generation.  But they are a younger generation in the Church today that is being cultivated to build God’s Kingdom and prepare the way of the Lord.  Understanding their identity in Christ and finding intimacy with Him through the Holy Spirit are foundational steps in encountering, experiencing and expressing the fullness of God’s Kingdom through their lives.

At MTC 2012, we want our younger generation released into “the joy set before Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2).  This joy is what the heart of Jesus pursues and what His Kingdom is all about.  This joy is what we must prepare and position our lives for.  This year’s MTC student ministry will have Tim Brasic, campus pastor at the Champaign Vineyard (Champaign-Urbana, IL), engage and encourage our young people to not only experience the Kingdom of God but to express it in their everyday lives.  Tim has a powerful testimony and practical teaching that will engage, stir and fire up all who listen and respond.  There will be prayer ministry times for imparting a fresh Kingdom vision to the young people who hunger after seeing the Holy Spirit bring the joy of Jesus to their most formative years.

The Holy Spirit is moving and stirring many in our younger generation.  Don’t let them miss out on what God has blessed us with this time at MTC 2012.  Come ready to be set on fire for Jesus and see His Kingdom manifested.

Blessings,

Pastor Li-Shang Tai

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. – Hebrews 12:2

In the course of developing the MTC 2012 theme, Pastor Li-En Tai came up with an insightful framework that well encapsulates the message of “The Joy Set Before Jesus”.  The 3 components of this framework are:  The Call, The Cross, and The City.

The model that Jesus demonstrated in Hebrews 12:2 shows us that the Father gave Jesus the “Call” to kingdom authority – the place at the right hand of His throne.  This authority is to be fully manifested in the “City”, the New Jerusalem – the Bride and Wife of the Lamb (Revelation 21:9-10) – the joy set before Him.  For Christ to fulfill this “Call” of kingdom authority in the “City”, He must go through the path of the “Cross”.

In the same way, Jesus expects us to also follow our “Cross” as the path that links our “Call” and our kingdom authority of the “City”.  So in anticipation of MTC 2012, where the powerful worship environment brings to our hearts a keen sensitivity to the Spirit’s revelation concerning our “Call” and “City”, we have prepared six blog entries beginning from September that delved into the wonders of the “Cross” – the beauty in its contradictions and the wisdom in its simplicity.

For many of us going through the “Cross” in our families, the workplace, and the church, we expect MTC 2012 to be a time when God speaks into our “Call” and shows us a clearer picture of the “City” – the joy that compels us to the road of the cross, to greater kingdom authority.

MTC 2012 – The Joy Set Before Jesus

As we rapidly approach the U.S. Thanksgiving holidays, I would like to once again encourage you to participate in the 18th annual Midwest Thanksgiving Conference (MTC) – “The Joy Set Before Jesus”.  Please click here for the Week 5 Prayer Guide.

Pastor Joseph Tai established MTC 18 years ago as one of his first acts of obedience to the 10,500 call.  Since then, the Lord’s powerful work of restoration, reconciliation, renewal, and regeneration among His children has continually sustained this gathering.

Because MTC has been founded on a Kingdom call, the conference program and atmosphere correspondingly reflect all facets of Kingdom life – the home, workplace, and church.  The conference agenda is lined up with an incredible group of pastors, business leaders, counselors, intercessors, prophets, and teachers that speak to all age levels and to all walks of life.  Through the years of “digging this well”, the Lord has given us a unique wellspring that has brought about transformation in families, connections in market place partnerships, and confirmation of destinies.

We expect that for this year, God will visibly increase the “flow” of the MTC wellspring – to serve His people like Solomon served the world through wisdom.  We believe that through this wellspring, the Lord will reveal his knowledge and understanding to address some of the toughest problems facing the family, the economy, and the church, preparing us to become His awesome witnesses to the end of the earth.
