The yearly Uprising gathering is coming up on Thursday, June 30th through Saturday, July 2nd.
Uprising is a gathering of young people who seek to set standards, as Jesus has called us to be standard setters apart from this world by “seeking first His Kingdom and righteousness”.
Bernie Sanders’ astonishing run for presidential nomination has shown that young people will rise to become standard setters when there is a cause, a community of like-minded people, and a platform to organize them. Even being “out-of-style” by two generations with an “out-of-style” socialist agenda, Bernie Sanders was able to upend powerful political traditions through young adults with “Berning” passion to set a new standard.
The Church is already a community of like-minded people that has a cause — a Kingdom cause much greater than any political agenda. And we believe that when our young people are enabled with the right platform, they can become standard setters that will turn the world upside down.
Uprising’s call is to become a platform that can organize the creative energies and convictions of our talented young people, providing them a framework of leadership, mutual collaboration, and accountability. Through message, praise worship, and fellowship, Uprising will strive to establish an environment where these young people can connect with one another in the Holy Spirit. And in that, they will see a clearer vision of their collective destinies as standard setters set apart from this world – setting Kingdom standards in their pursuit of education, career, wealth, relationships, and everything that defines “success”.
Jesus promised us that when we strive to set the standards of His Kingdom and righteousness, we will see everything that the world runs after also be given to us. In other words, setting and living by Kingdom standards is the only true answer that this world is “Berning” for. So if you know of young people (including yourself) who are BURNING to set a new standard, please consider supporting them to join the Uprising gathering.
